I have always loved to read. My mom tells me that on my first-ever day of school, I came home mad . “They didn’t teach me to read!” It is no coincidence that for 20+ years, it has been my joy to teach people to read.
I received my instruction in research-based multi-sensory methods from Langsford Learning Acceleration Center, in Louisville, Kentucky. As a clinician and assessment coordinator, my work focused on developing the phonological awareness and phonics skills essential to reading and spelling for people of all ages. In 2004, I moved to NYC and continued this work for Lindamood-Bell Learning Center in Manhattan.
In 2005 I established my own practice, supporting and strengthening the literacy needs of individuals in Brooklyn and Queens. I also acted as director of DUMBO Einsteins (2011-2013) at Abundant Learning, introducing literacy, art, math, and chess skills to 3 and 4 year-olds in a small classroom setting.
